Hi All,
My name is Graham and this is the first time on this forum.
This season will be my first season out hunting and I intend on starting in the cubbing season. Even though I live in Quorn Country (Belton Loughborough) I would like to attend your hunt, if that's possible of course. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hope to hear from you all soon.

Graham

Welcome to the forum, not many weeks to wait now before harvest is done and hounds will be out (she says optimistically). I don't hunt on a ned, so I can't offer any practical tips but I am often out and about on foot and bike so I'll keep an eye out for you.

We'll be arranging another pub night soon, so if you fancy coming to meet us prior to your mounted debut, then keep an eye on the Hunt Chat section of the forum or join our Facebook group.

Hello, Graham, welcome to the forums.

The first thing to do with any Hunt is make contact with the Hunt Secretaries, who are the main point of contact with the followers. They will be able to fill you in on details like times, dates and costs.

If you have never been hunting before, it would be best if possible, to go hunting first with someone you know who has a bit more experience. The Masters and Secretaries on the day will have lots of jobs to do, and correspondingly will have limited time available for explaining what is going on, so it will be easy to feel bewildered and left out if you really have not clue what is going on.

If you really don't know anyone else who already hunts then, again, the best thing to do is contact the Secretaries again and explain your situation and see if they might be able to find someone to mentor you as you get started.

If you stick Fitzwilliam into the search box it should throw up our group, just click join and then you'll get the events e-mails that go out. We only deal with the social nights, official hunt mail shots are George's department.

Hi George,
Thanks for your reply. I will make contact ASAP. Reference me knowing someone who hunts, i'm afraid I know no one at all who hunts. so, I will talk with the Secretaries.

Hope to meet you soon.
Graham

You should be able to get access now. Will try to arrange a pub night later this month before hunting starts so you can meet some of us. Any nights that are good or bad for you? :)
